Optic nerve health
Understanding Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a group of conditions that damage the optic nerve. Many people notice no early symptoms, so eye examinations are important.
Common signs
- Often no symptoms in the early stages
- Gradual loss of side vision
- Blind spots as the condition progresses
Assessment & care
Assessment may include eye pressure, optic nerve examination and visual field testing. Prescription drops, laser treatment or surgery may help limit further damage; lost vision generally cannot be restored.
Your eye specialist will recommend care based on your examination. Contact the clinic to confirm treatment availability.
